Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Greene County sheriff’s office:
Thursday, June 30: At 10:55 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a two-vehicle accident in the 1400 block of N. Elm St. At 11:35 am a deputy assisted the Boone County sheriff’s office with unlocking a car with a child in it in 100 block of 2nd St in Beaver. At 7:02 pm a deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 400 block of Harding St in Churdan. Butch Thede, 73, of Churdan was arrested for disorderly conduct*, and on an outstanding warrant for harassment- third degree*.
Wednesday, June 29: At 2:29 pm a deputy located a stolen street sign in the 1100 block of H Ave in Bristol Township. At 3:36 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 600 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction.
Tuesday, June 28: At 1:32 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD in the arrest of two persons for violation of a no contact order. At 10:46 am a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 700 block of E. Railroad St in Grand Junction. At 3:15 pm a deputy arrested Kyle Rysavy, 23, of Jefferson for criminal mischief- fifth degree (simple misdemeanor)*.
Monday, June 27: At 1:08 pm the sheriff, deputies, Jefferson PD, the Jefferson fire department, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a two-vehicle accident on Highway 30 and Orchard Ave east of Jefferson. Padyn Reep, 21, of Panama was eastbound driving a 2004 Chrysler Sebring. She did not see Gary Fitzgerald, 75, of Texas stopped in the eastbound lane in his 2018 Ford F-150 pickup truck. Reep struck the rear of Fitzgerald’s vehicle. Both vehicles ended up in the south ditch. Fitzgerald and a passenger were transported to Greene County Medical Center by Greene County Ambulance with minor injuries. Reep was cited for failure to stop in assured clear distance. Damage to both vehicles exceeded value. At 2:30 pm a deputy investigated several street signs missing in Scranton. A total of seven street signs and two stop signs were missing. At 8:52 pm the sheriff, deputies, Jefferson PD, the Jefferson fire department and Greene County Ambulance responded to a single-vehicle rollover accident on M Ave near 245th St in Jackson Township. A 16-year-old was driving a 2004 Buick Rainier and did not see a vehicle stopped in the dust. The driver swerved around the vehicle and lost control of the vehicle, which rolled into the east ditch. There were two other passengers in the vehicle, one of whom was transported to the medical center by Greene County Ambulance. The driver was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the vehicle exceeded value.
Sunday, June 26: At 2:44 am a deputy investigated a single-vehicle rollover accident on 197th St and Eaton Ave in Kendrick Township. Jacob Winters, 29, of Bayard lost control of a 2010 Ford Fusion and rolled in the ditch, totaling the vehicle. Winters was arrested for operating while intoxicated (serious misdemeanor)*. At 10:25 am a deputy investigated a burglary in the 200 block of 200th St in Kendrick Township. At 2:07 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 800 block of Percival St in Grand Junction.
Saturday, June 25: At 3:39 pm a deputy investigated a violation of a no contact order in the 1600 block of Newberry Ave south of Jefferson. At 8:03 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 800 block of Main St in Grand Junction.
Friday, June 24: At 9:18 am a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 400 block of Moulton St in Scranton. At 2:59 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 200 block of Anyer St in Dana. At 4:17 pm a deputy investigated a violation of a no contact order in the 1600 block of Newberry Ave south of Jefferson.
Thursday, June 23: At 6:11 am the sheriff’s office and the Central Iowa Drug Task Force conducted a search warrant in the 700 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. The case is still under investigation. At 9:07 am a deputy assisted the Department of Agriculture in the 2300 block of X Ave in Washington Township. At 11:38 am a deputy assisted DHS with an investigation in the 500 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 12:15 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 1100 block of Lincoln St in Scranton.
Wednesday, June 22: At 4:07 am a deputy assisted with cattle out in the 1700 block of 222nd St in Grant Township. At 7:43 am a deputy investigated a careless driving complaint on Highway 30 near Highway 4 at Jefferson. Henry Segebart, 21, of Vail was stopped by the Iowa State Patrol and arrested for operating while under the influence*. He was cited for improper use of lanes. At 8:14 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 1900 block of 130th St in Paton Township. At 8:45 am a deputy assisted with cattle out on 255th St and Quaker Ave in Grant Township. At 9:02 am a deputy investigated a violation of a no contact order in the 1500 block of Highway 30 west of Jefferson. At 1:40 pm the sheriff, a deputy, Grand Junction fire and rescue, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a UTV rollover accident on Somerset Ave near 170th St in Junction Township. William Sutton, 69, of Jefferson was operating a UTV and lost control on the gravel road. The UTV rolled onto its top in the east ditch. Sutton was taken by Greene County Ambulance to the Greene County Medical Center for suspected minor injuries. At 8:28 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 400 block of Perkins St in Churdan. At 11:30 pm a deputy assisted the jailer with an unruly inmate. At 11:34 pm a deputy investigated a burglary in the 1600 block of Newberry Ave south of Jefferson.
Tuesday, June 21: At 6:28 am a deputy investigated a violation of a no contact order in the 1600 block of Newberry Ave in Grant Township. At 7:36 am a deputy investigated criminal mischief to railroad equipment in Scranton. At 10:34 pm a deputy assisted with cattle out in the 1600 block of S Ave in Grant Township.
Monday, June 20: At 3:38 pm a deputy arrested Tina Meister, 44, of Jefferson on a warrant for contempt of court*. At 5:11 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 500 block of Bell St in Churdan. At 11:05 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 1900 block of 130th St in Paton Township.
Sunday, June 19: At 1:06 am a deputy conducted a traffic stop on S Ave near County Road E-53 west of Grand Junction. Jerry Peckumn, 69, of Jefferson was arrested for operating while intoxicated- first offense.* At 6:48 am a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on 330th St and Highway 4. At 10:49 am a deputy investigated a domestic assault in the 1000 block of Lincoln St in Scranton. Tracy McDonald, 46, of Scranton was arrested for domestic abuse assault impeding air flow and or blood flow*. At 1:22 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 900 block of Cedar St in Scranton. At 5:26 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 1900 block of 130th St in Dawson Township.
Saturday, June 18: At 11:47 am a deputy investigated a fight in the 200 block of N. 16th St in Grand Junction.
Friday, June 17: At 11:38 pm a deputy conducted a traffic stop on 230th St and C Ave in Kendrick Township. Joseph Hupp, 30, of Scranton was arrested for operating while intoxicated- third offense*.
Thursday, June 16: At 4:51 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 4 near 210th St north of Jefferson. Kellie Madison, 46, of Grand Junction struck a deer with her 2016 Ford Explorer, causing an estimated $2,000 damage to the vehicle. At 12:44 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 900 block of Maple St in Scranton. At 5:53 pm a deputy removed a deer from the roadway in the 1200 block of Highway 4 north of Jefferson. At 6:41 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 1000 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction.
Wednesday, June 15: At 6:48 pm a deputy assisted the Dallas County sheriff’s office with a notification request in the 400 block of S. 8th Street, Grand Junction. Dale Ganoe, 44, of Jefferson was arrested for domestic abuse assault- third or subsequent*.
Tuesday, June 14: At 12:28 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 900 block of Cedar St in Scranton. At 3:38 am a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 600 block of S. 15th St in Grand Junction.
Monday, June 13: At 5:45 am a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on Highway 4 near 190th St. At 7:20 am a deputy, Churdan Rescue, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a single vehicle accident in the 200 block of P-29 (N Ave) in Dawson Township. James Thompson, 69, of Missouri was southbound driving a 2015 Ford F250 when he suffered a medical emergency. His truck entered the west ditch just south of 110th St and traveled about a quarter of mile through a field before striking a tree. Thompson suffered minor injuries and was transported to Greene County Medical Center by Greene County Ambulance. Damage to his vehicle was estimated at $10,000. At 10:36 am a deputy assisted with cattle out in the 1900 block of Highway 4 south of Jefferson. At 2:44 pm the sheriff assisted the Webster County sheriff’s office with attempting to locate a subject on 210th St near M Ave in Bristol Township. At 5:57 pm the sheriff investigated a fight in the 600 block of S.15th St in Grand Junction. At 10 pm a deputy investigated a missing child in the 600 block of State St in Scranton. The child was located in the home.
Sunday, June 12: At 12:08 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a child possessing a BB-gun in the 600 block of S. 15th St in Grand Junction. At 3:04 pm the sheriff and a deputy arrested Douglas Shutt, 61, of Grand Junction after a short pursuit near Grand Junction. Shutt was charged with eluding 25 mph over the speed limit*.
Saturday, June 11: At 5:43 am a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 600 block of S. 15th St in Grand Junction. At 12:31 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with an arrest at the Little League Field in Jefferson. Sirjohn Wilder, 37, of Jefferson was arrested for public intoxication and interference with official acts*. At 9:45 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with an arrest at Westwood Dr and Grimmell Rd in Jefferson. Bryce Smith, 41, of Lohrville was arrested for operating while under the influence- second offense*.
Friday, June 10: At 2:36 pm a deputy investigated a burglary in the 800 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction.
Thursday, June 9: At 12:29 am a deputy investigated an assault in the 600 block of Lincoln St in Scranton. At 7:41 am a deputy investigated a complaint of what the caller thought was a child being pushed into a rental van. The van was located and found to be full of implement parts and was delivering in Paton. At 5:35 pm a deputy removed a deer from the roadway near Seven Hills Park. At 8:07 pm a deputy assisted with cattle out in the 800 block of I Ave in Bristol Township. At 8:39 pm a deputy investigated a theft near 5th and Hager Sts in Grand Junction.
Wednesday, June 8: At 9:47 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 200 block of Cartwright St in Rippey.
Tuesday, June 7: At 9:35 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 100 block of E. Hager St in Grand Junction. At 3:39 pm a deputy investigated a trespass complaint in the 100 block of W. 2nd Street in Rippey. At 8:12 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of animal neglect in the 100 block of E. Hager St in Grand Junction.
Monday, June 6: At 6:23 am a deputy investigated a violation of a no contact order in the 1900 block of 130th St in Paton Township. At 7:55 am a deputy investigated a single vehicle accident on P Ave near 305th St in Franklin Township. The driver was not located. The vehicle was towed from the scene. It did not appear that anyone was injured in the accident. At 7:58 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 400 block of Harding St in Churdan.
Sunday, June 5: At 5:35 pm a deputy investigated an abandoned 911 call in the 300 block of S. 19th St in Grand Junction. At 6:59 pm a deputy investigated an abandoned 911 call in the 200 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction.
Saturday, June 4: At 1:25 am a deputy arrested Tory Beger, 28, of Grand Junction for operating under the influence* at Highways 30 and 144 in Grand Junction.
Friday, June 3: At 6:47 pm a deputy investigated a domestic assault in the 900 block of Cedar St in Scranton. Melissa Dopheide ,40, of Scranton was arrested for domestic abuse assault causing injury*. At 6:57 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD in executing a search warrant in the 700 block of N. Chestnut St in Jefferson. At 8:17 pm a deputy investigated a domestic assault in the 1000 block State St in Scranton. Brandy Ranker, 38, of Scranton was arrested for domestic abuse assault causing injury*.
